#suicidepreventionmonth

It’s #suicidepreventionmonth. I see the posts everywhere and it still feels surreal that I could join in the conversation. I’ve been thinking of the lyrics to a favorite Allison Krauss song of ours, so (in a very emo fashion, which Aaron would give me shit about if he was here) I thought I’d share the lyrics today. If you’re not yourself, in a dark place, or fear being a burden to others – it’s okay to speak up and it’s okay to seek help. When a person dies by suicide, their pain is reflected to those around them – it creates a domino effect. So it’s not just okay to speak up, but necessary. That person or fur-baby you love most? I promise they’ll thank you. Sometimes speaking up and seeking help is the suicide hotline, but sometimes it’s not that straightforward. Find someone you can confide in and allow them to help guide you to the right resources. There is a resource and person for you, you just may not know it yet. Even if what you’re feeling feels unsolvable, there is a solution somewhere. The world needs you. You deserve to wake up tomorrow to see the fall colors, drink a psl, and smell the fresh air. I wish I could do the same – just like we did for the last thirteen years – with Aaron. He deserves a lot more life than he had, and his future was incredible. He was such an empathetic, kind light and strong advocate to our small corner of the world.

? Where have you been,

My long lost friend?

It’s good to see you again.

Come and sit for a while

I’ve missed your smile

Today the past is goodbye.

Time can’t erase

A lover’s embrace.

Can’t you hear it calling?

A new day dawning

You were longing to find.

Love’s taken you far

Away from my heart,

And I’ve been here all alone.

Have your eyes failed to find

What took you from mine,

A vision that’s faded through time?

But you sailed away,

A fine summer’s day,

Cause you heard it calling,

A new day dawning,

You were longing to find.

There is a way to make you stay.

Darlin’ don’t turn away

Don’t doubt your heart

and keep us apart

I’m right where you are

Stay

There is a way to make you stay.

Darlin’ don’t turn away.

Don’t doubt your heart

and keep us apart

I’m right where you are

Stay ?
